I am dedicated to excellent teaching and scholarship.
In my classroom I am motivated by teaching students how to be critical of social structures, while also impressing agency on them to pursue solutions to the social problems that they care about. I love the process of course design and the practice of creative pedagogy.
In my research I am motivated by understanding the strategies that individuals use to perceive agency over various types of well-being in their lives, as well as understanding how the individual use or internalization of culture enables or thwart social change. I love the process of research design and the practice of careful social science research.
